Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the questions we get asked regularly. Hopefully these answers will help you have the best Spray Tanning Experience ever.
Is spray tanning safe?
Yes! Many people are now turning to spray tanning and avoiding tanning beds due to the effects tanning beds have on your skin. Our solutions are vegan, organic and PETA approved. A main ingredient is dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is a carbohydrate compound derived from a vegetable source like beets or sugar cane. It is approved by the FDA for use in externally applied sunless tanning solutions.
Is there any soaps or moisturizing lotion that I should avoid?
Choose a gel body wash rather than a “moisturizing” body wash (such as Dove).
How do I prepare for my spray tan?
For best results, shower, exfoliate and remove any unwanted body hair at least 12 hours before your tanning session.
Skin should be clean and dry before being sprayed. Avoid arriving at your session with moisturizers, oils or perfume.
Do you follow COVID-19 guidelines?
Before your scheduled session, you will need to complete a COVID-19 waiver. This waiver explains in detail all procedures that must be followed. Once you arrive on the van, your temperature will be taken and we will ensure the COVID checklist was reviewed. All employees will wear a mask; however, you may leave yours off during your tan.
When should I expect to see my tanning results?
You will be able to see your tan immediately due to the bronzer in the solution. This bronzer is used as a guide for your spray tan technician and will wash off during your post rinse. The DHA is the ingredient that tans your skin and will develop after 8-12 hours for a regular spray or 2-4 hours for a rapid spray.
Can I schedule the Get Glowing van to arrive at any location?
Get Glowing brings the glow wherever you go! With approval of property management, we can meet you on your lunch breaks, at the gym, hotel or any other location that is most convenient for you!
Should I spray tan before or after receiving other beauty services?
Any services such as: nails, facial, waxing or lash appointments should be scheduled before receiving your spray tan. These mentioned services could cause fading and/or removal of your tan if scheduled after your tan.
What do I wear to my spray tanning session?
You may arrive in whatever garment you feel comfortable in; preferably dark, loose clothing for post spray. While being spray-tanned, undergarments are optional. You may remove or leave on any garment that you feel most comfortable in while also allowing you to receive a flawless tan.
When can I shower?
Avoid getting wet, excessive sweating or skin to skin contact for a minimum of 8 hours after your session. Your first shower post spray tan should be a light rinse. Do not scrub and pat yourself dry afterwards – no rubbing dry. Your tan will be fully developed after 24 hours and at that time, you may wash with a gentle soap.
